My older sister and I had to decide whether or not to apply to Foothill or Ventura. My sister had already gone to Ventura for her freshman and sophomore years so she gave me an idea what it would be like at Ventura. My sister wanted to come here really bad and I was not completely sure because all of my friends were going to Ventura. In the end I decided that it was a better choice academically.
I was really sad about not going to Ventura with all of my friends, especially with my best friend because she and I were supposed to go to middle school together. She went to Anacapa and I went to Cabrillo. I was also looking forward to going to school with people I had never gone to school with, but were my friends.
My sister had already tried to get into Foothill 2 years earlier. She definitely did not think we would get in. We both sent in our applications, we both got in. My sister was so excited to g so I just made a really quick decision to come to Foothill. I now know that I made the right decision.
My first day at foothill was fun because I saw a lot of people I know, that I didn’t know were coming here. Orientation was really fun. The activities that we did in the beginning were a little weird but fun. My FIRE leaders are really nice and during FIRE they gave us tiaras for the girls and eye patches for the boys.
My friends were really mad at me when I told them I was coming to foothill. Especially my best friend, she stopped talking to me for 2 weeks. I was not surprised that she acted that way because I did the same thing to her in middle school.
Foothill for me now is awesome. My teachers are really good and I can tell that I will learn a lot in this school. I have a lot of friends in my FIRE class so FIRE is really fun for me. There is a lot of homework in all of my classes but I enjoy doing it.
In conclusion I decided to come to Foothill because I knew that this was the better choice. Thank you for listening.
